Kenlake State Resort Park Campground Review

On the way to drop our daughter off at college, we stopped for one night at Kenlake campground in Kentucky. This campground has 90 spots, with the majority for tents or smaller RV’s. Most of the sites are not level at all.

Our RV is almost 32 feet, and there were only a few sites that would accommodate us. We were in the one pull-through (site 42, which by the way, is not marked on the map as a pull-through).

One loop is a little tight depending on how the cars are parked. However, some of the sites down there are big enough for larger rigs up to 35 feet. Some of the sites are right on the lake and also have a nice deck. The other loop has some nice sites and several with decks.

If you want to see what each site looks like, you can go Campsite Photos.

Bring long cords

Another point to know when you are coming to this campground is that 2 sites share the electricity and the water.

Plus, you need to make sure you have a long water hose and an extension cord for your electricity as the hook-ups are quite a ways from the sites.

That is the electricity back in the woods.

Speaking of electricity, we had trouble with our camper tripping the breaker several times, and we only had one light and the electricity running. That’s it. Mike said the connection didn’t look good at our site.

There is not room for your boat at this campground. There is a marina down the road. You can, however, fish off the deck and there are paths down to the water from the campsites where you can fish from shore

Also at the marina is a lodge and 34 cottages you can rent. There are many, many different campgrounds and state parks in this area. We plan to return and check some of them out and explore the area in more detail. Though an older state park, this one is particularly nice for tent campers and smaller RV’s unless you can snag one of the larger sites.
