Middle Fork Campground Review

There are two campgrounds in Natural Bridge State Resort Park: Middle Fork and Whittleton.

We camped in Middle Fork. There are 36 campsites with water and electricity and 11 primitive water only sites. Here is a map of the campground.

We camped in site 36 which is away from the rest of them. In fact, we had a few issues with the electricity when we first got there. It is on a separate electricity grid from the rest of the campground. However, it is a wonderful site that is much higher than the other sites.

That is important because the rest of the campgrounds are in a flood plain.

There are some beautiful campsites on the river. Maneuvering around this campground might be a bit tricky if the campground is full. Also, you might need some extra extension cords and hoses. Some of the sites share electricity boxes. Some campers complained to us about having trouble and needing extra-long cords.

The primitive campsites are done the road, so a little more private than the electric ones.

The dump station is located on a curve of the road leading out of the main campsite. Not the best set-up.

We loved staying here. The location was perfect to take the many hikes in the area. However, be aware of rain conditions since this area is known for flash floods.
